DJ Concole Ideation 2
Top right concept is the modular styled design that I will be moving forward with. The design attempts to combine the classic analog controls with some more modern touch screen controls. The smaller console is the master with all others attaching to it through lugs that attach them. The Multi function display allows touch screen control of media and also sampling. The larger console is the deck with the turntable which has two screens for media and track information along with a pause and cue control on a static centre panel of the turntable.

Train sketch excersice
Shown here is a B&W rendered train that I have done. After receiving some pointers from Jason in the last class I have attempted to capture more realistic shadow and tone on the surfaces of this train.
I have yet to work on the windows and the tones of the nose of the train as it lacks three dimensionality in that regard. However I do believe it is a move in the right direction.

Here is some research into conventional tram designs and concepts. I would like to move away from the conventional ideas of the Tram to something that is interesting from a passengers point of view.

Train Ideation BW
Some ideation sketches experimenting with form of the exterior and playing with black and white shading.
These forms in my opinion are too simple and rectangular. I believe that a future tram design should either embrace a futuristic form with curves and radii or aim to reflect influences of the past. I will do some research in conjunction with my sketching to try and find more direction with concepts

Initial Tram Sketch
This is my first practice sketch of a tram. I used a reference image to get the outline and then 'attempted' to do a quick render.
I do need alot more practice with rendering.

My first attempt at Digital drawing
Shown here is my first attempt at drawing with my tablet. I used a reference image to trace a pen outline of the character, after that I began blocking out colours in preperation for shading.
Though this is a different style to product based shading/rendering, I wanted to explore this technique to attempt more painterly qualities

I am a big fan of motor sport, automotive and aerospace based products so I really like these images. Not only is the content appealing but I also like the loose and fast style of sketching. These qualities really convey the speed inherent in the vehicles.

First Post
First post of the blog showing a piece of my work from last year. I'm not overly confident with my drawing though this is probably one of my better ones.
